Atlanta Metropolitan State College Generates Nearly $75 Million in Economic Impact

ATLANTA, Sept. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Atlanta Metropolitan State College (AMSC) generated nearly $74.9 million in economic impact and supported 527 jobs across the Atlanta metropolitan region during fiscal year 2025, according to a new report commissioned by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia (USG).
The report, The Economic Impact of University System of Georgia Institutions on Their Regional Economies in FY 2025, was prepared by the Selig Center for Economic Growth at the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business. It examines the economic activity generated through institutional operations, employee compensation and student spending from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025.
AMSC's fiscal year 2025 impact includes $74.9 million in total economic output, $51.2 million in value added to the regional economy and $29.3 million in labor income. The college impact of employment includes 527 full and part-time jobs, 159 on-campus jobs and 368 off-campus jobs supported by institution-related spending. Of AMSC's total economic impact, student spending generated approximately $35.7 million, demonstrating how the College's students contribute to local businesses, housing providers, restaurants, transportation services and other sectors throughout the Atlanta metropolitan area.
