Cascala Health and CEO Matt Murphy Win Gold in 2026 Merit Awards for Healthcare

PR Newswire

BOSTON, Nov. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Cascala Health, which delivers AI-powered clinical intelligence for clearer, more connected care transitions, today announced it has been named Best Healthcare Technology Solution of the Year in the 2026 Merit Awards for Healthcare, and that CEO and co-founder Matt A. Murphy has won gold in the Top Leaders category.

Cascala Health delivers AI-powered clinical intelligence for clearer, more connected care transitions.

The Merit Awards for Healthcare celebrate organizations delivering breakthrough technologies that meaningfully advance patient care. They are judged by industry executives, members of the media and consultants.

"Care transitions are one of the most neglected and riskiest moments in healthcare, and they're where our team has chosen to focus," said Murphy. "This recognition is a credit to everyone at Cascala and to the partners who trust us with their patients."

Cascala Health won gold for its AI-enabled care transition intelligence platform that gives every organization along the care continuum a complete view of the patient. It serves provider groups, at-risk entities such as accountable care organizations (ACOs) and Medicare Advantage plans, and post-acute organizations.

The platform retrieves records from hospitals, facilities and health information exchanges, including records care teams would otherwise never see. It then uses AI to turn them into concise, explainable clinical summaries, with standardized reporting at the facility, provider and patient levels. By identifying utilization patterns and early risk signals, Cascala helps care teams intervene sooner and coordinate smoother transitions.

At 34, Murphy has already built a track record across digital health. He launched a digital health accelerator at Boston Children's Hospital, joined nonemergency medical transportation startup Circulation (later acquired by ModivCare), and served as executive vice president of clinical development at Cohere Health as it grew from five to more than 500 employees. An alumnus of Flare Capital Partners' Flare Scholars program, he founded Cascala in 2024 after incubating it inside Redesign Health.

The awards cap a period of rapid growth for Cascala. Since closing an $8.6 million seed round in 2025, the company has expanded to serve large ACOs and at-risk provider groups representing more than 1.2 million lives and has completed over 30,000 care transitions in more than 2,500 facilities.

"A lot of what goes wrong in healthcare happens in the handoff, when a patient moves from one setting to the next and the important information doesn't make it with them," said Murphy. "What's next for us is making sure the full picture follows every patient, from the hospital to the nursing facility to the primary care visit, so care teams aren't left chasing records."
