Cheba Hut Cruises Into Edmond With a Toasted New Joint

Counter-culture sandwich destination brings original artwork, a full-service bar and late-night munchie fixes to the 15th and Bryant corridor

Cheba Hut Cruises Into Edmond With a Toasted New JointEdmond, OK  (RestaurantNews.com)  A fresh stop for toasted subs, cold drinks and laid-back vibes is getting ready to roll into Edmond. Cheba Hut “Toasted” Subs, the counterculture sandwich shop known for its chill atmosphere, cottonmouth cures, and bold flavors that hit just right, opens at 1389 E 15th St. on Aug. 31.

To mark the occasion, the Edmond shop is throwing a grand opening bash packed with giveaways. In true Cheba fashion, the 420th customer through the door will score a year of free Cheba Hut, and the first 100 guests can snag an exclusive swag bag. Additionally, DJ Terpenoid will start spinning tunes at 5 p.m.

Positioned in the Spring Creek Plaza near the corner of 15th Street and Bryant Avenue, the restaurant sits at one of the busiest crossroads in town. The University of Central Oklahoma is just minutes away, Edmond Memorial High School is right up the road, and both thoroughfares bring a steady flow of students, families, commuters and local residents to the area.

The opening marks the ownership group’s second Cheba Hut in Oklahoma, following its Uptown shop in Oklahoma City. A third joint is already under construction in Norman, and the group is scouting sites in Tulsa as it keeps building out the Chebaverse across the state.

“Edmond has been on the list since before we signed anything,” said Rose Taylor, franchise owner. “There’s such a mix of people here, and that’s part of what we loved about it. We kept picturing a place that could fit into all those different lives. Whether you’re grabbing a Nug on a lunch break, meeting up with friends or staying until close, Cheba is a place where everyone can enjoy spending time while also feeling like they belong.”

Like every destination across the Chebaverse, the Edmond location tells a local story through custom artwork. Kid Lennon, the artist behind the Uptown 23rd design, reimagined Oklahoma roadside Americana and Route 66 as a pit stop for visitors from much farther away. Vintage highway imagery, aliens and a run of Cheba Hut Easter eggs share the wall in colors that tilt just surreal enough, landing somewhere between a classic mother-road mural and a weird attraction that could only exist here.

Beyond the wall, the shop has a patio and a full-service bar, built for midday sub runs, a round after work, and the stretch of the night when the munchies show up uninvited.

For customers stepping inside for the first time, Cheba Hut serves more than 30 signature toasted subs inspired by classic cannabis strains and available in Nug (4-inch), Pinner (8-inch) and Blunt (12-inch) sizes. Fan favorites include the White Widow, loaded with chicken, bacon and ranch; the Kali Mist, a spicy club stacked with turkey, bacon and pepper jack; the Dank, a pizza-inspired masterpiece layered with pepperoni, salami, marinara and melted mozzarella; and the Griefo, a veggie-forward favorite piled high with cream cheese, avocado and fresh greens.

The menu also features munchie-approved sides like pretzel nugs and garlic cheese bread, sweet treats including Krispy Bars and cookies, plus the legendary Kool-Aid bar that’s been a go-to remedy for cottonmouth since day one.

Cheba Hut Edmond will be open daily from 10 a.m. to midnight.

With its mix of toasted subs, playful stoner humor, neighborhood-first mindset and a disrespectful mascot named “Flip the Bird,” Cheba Hut is ready to make Edmond a little more dank, one toasted sandwich or Krispy Bar at a time.

Cheba Hut’s fun and authentic dining experience includes a full-service bar and highlights its menu because it’s not about getting high; it’s about epic food and legendary service!
