Dr. Khan will assume the Executive Vice President role in January 2027.

MILWAUKEE, Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) is pleased to announce David A. Khan, MD, FAAAAI, as our next Executive Vice President. Dr. Khan will assume the role in January 2027.

Dr. Khan previously served as President of the AAAAI from 2022-2023 and currently serves as a program director and Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at UT Southwestern and as an Associate Editor of The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: In Practice. During his long history of leadership and involvement with the AAAAI, Dr. Khan served as Chair of the Program Directors Section, Chair of the Food Allergy, Anaphylaxis, Dermatology and Drug Allergy Section and Chair of the In-Training Examination Committee. He was also a member of the AAAAI Joint Task Force on Practice Parameters for 16 years and served as Chair of the AAAAI Foundation Council (2023-2024). Dr. Khan will step into his new role of Executive Vice President in January, briefly overlapping with the retiring Executive Vice President, Thomas Fleisher, MD, FAAAAI, until the conclusion of the 2027 AAAAI Annual Meeting.
