How Equality Mental Health Expands Trauma-Informed Care for Adults Across Bergen County

River Edge, United States - July 24, 2026 / Equality Mental Health /

RIVER EDGE, NJ, July 23, 2026 — Equality Mental Health announced the introduction of a structured childhood trauma therapy program for adults in Bergen County and Northern New Jersey, expanding access to trauma-informed psychotherapy through in-person and telehealth service options.

The program responds to growing demand from adults experiencing anxiety, emotional shutdown, hypervigilance, relationship difficulties, persistent shame, and other patterns associated with unresolved childhood experiences. Equality Mental Health developed the service model to support individualized treatment planning while accommodating work, caregiving, transportation, and privacy considerations.

The therapy program begins with an assessment of current concerns, emotional patterns, stress responses, treatment goals, and factors affecting daily functioning. Early sessions may focus on grounding strategies, emotional safety, coping skills, and manageable objectives before progressing into deeper trauma-processing work.

Available approaches may include trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, cognitive processing therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, psychodynamic therapy, family therapy, and couples counseling. Treatment selection is based on each client’s history, symptoms, readiness, comfort level, and therapeutic goals.

Equality Mental Health has also incorporated flexible scheduling across telehealth and in-person formats. The operational model is intended to provide continuity for adults managing demanding schedules, transportation limitations, family responsibilities, or concerns about attending office-based sessions.

The program addresses emotional, physical, behavioral, and relational patterns that may be connected to early trauma. Areas of focus may include emotional regulation, communication, boundaries, self-criticism, avoidance, trust, stress management, and relationship stability.

Services are available to adults, couples, families, and individuals throughout Bergen County and Northern New Jersey. Equality Mental Health will continue refining its trauma-informed workflows as client needs, treatment approaches, and access preferences evolve.
