In their 20s, the priority is establishing baseline health markers. Blood pressure, cholesterol, blood glucose, and body mass index provide a starting point for tracking changes over time. This is also the appropriate age to begin sexual health screening and, for couples considering marriage, pre-marital health screening.

In their 30s, the focus shifts to early disease detection. Diabetes screening, thyroid function, and liver and kidney function tests become relevant, particularly for individuals with family histories of chronic disease or those managing elevated stress levels from work and family demands.

In their 40s, cancer screening becomes a central part of any health check. Mammograms for women, PSA (Prostate-Specific Antigen) testing for men, colorectal cancer screening, and cardiovascular risk assessment are standard at this stage. Healthier SG Screening

Healthier SG Screening (formerly Screen for Life) provides heavily subsidised health checks to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents to encourage the early detection of chronic conditions and cancers. These evidence-based screenings focus on cardiovascular risk factors, including obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol, as well as common cancers such as cervical, colorectal, and breast cancer.

Eligibility and recommended frequency for these tests such as annual stool kits (FIT) for colorectal cancer or biennial mammograms for breast cancer are determined by a person's age, gender, and medical history.
